CAB ROLL BAR

I would think the potential damage could come from scratches to powder coat finish. Although I expect it will be wrapped, these shippers always seem to find a way to gouge something. (I used to work for UPS many years ago).

Flash, any idea how many people from Northern CA have ordered? I have a small Toyota pickup with shell, and may be able to arrange a group pickup if people are willing to split the gas costs, which should be cheaper than shipping individually.

This all depends on dimensions, as I'm not sure if these things will fit under my shell and into my narrow bed (52inchx72inch). Also, timing may be an issue because I'll be out of town in Sept.

I'm beginning to worry - the best quote my shipping guy got today was about $310. If that's what it's going to cost - anyone want to buy my chassis stiffener?

jim - greyhound shipping is pretty cheap - they also offer local delivery in many cities - looks like less than 100 bucks all in for you - fear not - we'll get there

968 cab - no idea how many norcal people right now - i have to get the list tomorrow so i can see about grouping like that - i'm doing sort of the same thing for the socal guys - dimensions are 52x42x20 - it'll fit

Maybe you guys can go to Craigslist and hire a college kid with a long bed pickup truck who is looking for a cross country adventure. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/rolleyes.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

Flash, it looks like my charge card was billed for 50% of the the cost of the roll bar, which is fine. When will the remaining 50% be billed? At the time the finished product is ready, or when they are actually delivered to the shipper? When I placed the order, I told him to ship it, but depending on completion date and expected shipping costs, I may be able to arrange pickup.

Did you get a chance to group the list into geographic areas (ie - Northern CA?)

i think he will bill the remainder at completion, which is essentially hours from the time of shipping -

i will have the list of norcal folks today - i'll let you know - love to see you anyway - there will be an "install day" here, where i will be helping folks pop them in, so feel free to jump on in if there are no others to deliver up there

C'mon Flash - it's been 11 days since you provided any info on this topic. I'm now just six weeks from my next DE at Watkins Glen and I'd sure like to have the roll bar (oops, I meant to say "chassis stiffener") installed by then.
