CAB CHASSIS BRACE ROUND 3

Flash,

I was at our PCA Autocross yesterday and received a few compliments on the Chassis Brace in the car from the 944 Cab guys in my class. One was inquiring about a bar and I told him it the story and that the only chance he had of getting one was if somebody wanted to sell theirs. Would that thing fir 944 or 944S2 Cab? Sure looks the same from an eyeball look.

thanks

i am all but certain that it will indeed fit an S2 cab - i haven't actually checked, but i am pretty sure the mounting points are the same - i know the top is the same

as for getting one, there is one from the first batch for sale (we made some changes later that made it easier to install) - it belonged to Mark, and now it's at RS Barn - no idea what the price is

i can run more as soon as it makes sense - i figured i probably would be doing a run of both hardtop and cab units sometime after the first of the year

The one sitting in the attic at RSBarn can be had pretty cheap, feel free to PM an offer if so desired.

He has the rear seat option and has 2 little kids that ride back there sometimes. Any issue with the seat belts being used or anything?

not from a physical interference standpoint - it was designed specifically with that in mind - anchorman has his grandkids back there in his

it might be a problem to use the seats from a legality standpoint, but is determined state by state - such laws though would have nothing to do with the brace being there or not, and is only an issue due to the type of belts and their installation, and DOT laws which prohibited rear seats in cabs altogether

As Flash pointed out, I've had my grandsons (ages 6 and 9) in the rear seats with the brace installed - no problem. I only do this with the top up, so no one can even see that they're there. I avoid having them there when I have the harness bar installed (I use it as a camera mount) and, of course, when the windscreen is in place.
