Cab Roll Bar group buy
#1

I saw Flash roll bar today and it is a piece of work. I say it should be mandatory for all cab owner. We can get Flash to do another run if we have enough interest (10 would be ideal but I am sure we can work something out if we dont get the full 10 people to buy) Come on people lets see a show of hands or in this case a post would be good.

I want one badddddddd

I am one of the lucky ones with Flash's roll bar.

1) for safety, all cab owners should get one.

2) for handling improvement, all cab owners should get one.

3) for solid feeling when driving as a DD, ...

4) for ease of installation...

5) for a "no damage" installation...

6) for a no welding installation...

7) for a no carpet cutting installation...

8) for a no bolting through the floor installation...

With over 1,000 members to this forum there must be 9 more of you with cabs who NEED this item.

I recommend it without reservation.

If you can get 8 more together, I'm in. I'm not in any hurry so I'm happy to wait to see if 8 more joins in...

10 is the magic number for any kind of decent pricing - i use 4 different vendors to get the thing made - the bender is a computer operated one that means a run before they will consent to set up - it just takes too much time to load the program for lower run numbers tom make sense - the bottom line is that we pay the same for bending one tube as we do for 10

the good news is that there are already a couple of people waiting in the wings for the next run

i'll have the conversation this week to determine what the new porice is going to be for the next run - as i said a while ago, it has to go up - it cost us a lot more to build than we thought it would when we set the price, due partly to the revisions i made in the design, and partly to materials going up

probably looking at about 100 bucks more per unit than before, for each version

now, time is a whole different nightmare - the welder's schedule is crazy

i'll figure it all out and get back to you all

as i said though, keeping a schedule is not the welder's strong suit, though i am sure it will be much faster than the last run

Depending upon final pricing, I'd be in for one as well...I am not in a hurry. Besides, once it is installed, it will only make me want to go to a DE all that much more <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/rolleyes.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

Flash...you have e-mail.

Is this roll bar similar to the one for sale by Performance products? Better?

#14

there is a thread here with pics of the chassis brace and everything

short answer - if the one at perf prod is the autopower, it is far superior to that in many respects - this is 6 point, powder coated DOM tube unit requiring no drilling - the standard autopower is a 4 pt painted ERW tube unit that requires drilling through the car which will not pass any pca or scca specs

it passes most DE requirements in base model form (there are a couple of DEs that require the x brace), but will need the additional x brace to pass race spec

the fit is very different too - the autopower will not allow the use of the windscreen or back seats, and sits well inside the compartment, basically making the back area useless, and sits vertical, which is not nearly as aesthetically pleasing

take a look - decide for yourself

lol - no worries send me an email to the address above, with yoru contact info, and you'll be on the list

just to be clear, there is no "group buy" per se - just an accumulation of orders to justify a run - how this primarily differs is that one person will not be buying them and distributing them - each sale will be independent of another

feel free to email me any other questions

(trying to be helpful, not lazy)

could we get a post here to show a few pics and an approx price range?

that last post is like 10 pages long by now.

i think it'd be very helpful to have fresh it on a clean thread here.
