rolling out the new cab
#21

Tips are not my thing but this looks to be an extremely clean buy. Congrats!
Flash,

Nice car! I am sorry that I bought black overmats for my car (classic grey interior) the grey mats look much better!!

Cheers.
Don't be sorry. They stain with incredible ease. My car only gets used occasionally and even being extra cautious the gray mats got stained much sooner than I expected. Especially on the passenger side. My next mats will be black or charcoal gray, like the 951 cab in the Peter Morgan book.

tips aren't my thing either - father in law has bad arthritis and could no longer drive the TR-4A - wanted an automatic - wanted a boxster, but the golf clubs were an issue

i got him this

as for the mats, i plan to just keep buying new ones every year - they are VERY inexpensive

Congrats! I can't believe that you found a cab with 14K on it!

Thanks for posting all those pictures - It is winter here in NY and I look at my car every day longing for warmer days

Flash,

As you can see from my late response, my grandkids have still been keeping me busy. I too wanted to congratulate you on the excellent 968 that you found for your father-in-law. You may have pondered how this car compares to the other low mileage 968s out there and this has got to be one of the top 10. I will no longer be in that category after the Albuquerque 968 Celebration since I anticipate approx. 16,700 odometer reading upon our return to PA. Ask your father-in-law if he would like to join the PCA 968 Register (234 + 968 owner members) and have him email me if he is interested.

Great find!!!!

thanks - yeah, i figure he'll put on about 1200 miles a year tops - he has had it for 2 months now, and still hasn't used a full tank of gas - at 5 miles a trip, it will take a while

sorry, but nope - he does not want to join pca - now, if the register did not require pca membership, i'm sure he would

Flash,

Wow! What a lovely cabriolet! And to think that you and Pete "stole" it right from under my nose here in Virginia. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/biggrin.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

lol - gotta be quick - i think it was a matter of hours from the time i got the email from josh telling me about the car, to the time i wired the money there - a few phone calls, a trip to the bank, and it was done

no regrets

Nice!

What's the rub strip on the doors? I've seen that on only a few examples.

Holy revived thread Rhudeman!

Funny, I was just talking to Bob yesterday as they were detailing this car. It's still in wonderful shape.

i love that car, tip and all - incredibly civilized, solid and smooth - a real pleasure to drive, and no work at all to do so

Well since you have revived this, a question. Did the car have brackets for the engine bay trim pieces? did you source the pieces from dismantlers or go new?

LOL- It was Bobs fault. He posted the link in a current post to this thread. I didn't want to hijack that thread with a comment on this car so...

Man, I'm really starting to like white cars. If things ever work out to where I have the space and money. I would add a white cab to my garage.
