94 black cab
#1

Some shots of the car and one of the spouse muffler modification- The rear seat belts quieted her down considerably about me buying the car. My 2 kids fit comfortably in back.

Carlos-

Thanks!

I think the car came from the factory that way.

According to "jeff968" at another site, the contrasting seats and carpet was a factory option. The dash and console are also tan.

Is there anything to those seats, other than carpet? Can I take out my cubbies and do that?

yup - every cab i have seen is fully carpeted back there - the later cars don't have the welded in nut on the tranny tunnel for the seat belts, so you need to drill that and put a nut and hardened fender washer back there, but that's about it

i regret getting rid of my cubbies - now that i am likely to change my front speakers and cut holes in the panels to do it, i could have built my subs in the doors, and left the cubbies in place - they were very useful

Why the rear seats back is black?

I would love to see a pic of the center console contrasting with the dash.

Cheers

the only thing different in the deviating interior is the carpet - everything else is exactly as the other cars - cashmere cars already came with black rear seat backs, door tops, and black dash

And what were "the later cars"... Do you mean post-'92?

definitely 95, but i think it was from late 94 on - you can tell pretty easily by taking an awl and trying to poke a hole where the bolt would go

Just back from vacation...

As flash writes- you have to drill, as I, did from mid 94 on.

This conversion is very easy and, if you like you can put the shelf back in and take it out as needed- it sits fine by gravity unless you are driving quite hard.

My kids love riding in the back.

BTW-

Anyone have a cashmere or black rear seat with which they want to part?

Thanks!

Dave,

3rd picture down. Great angle. The car just looks fast. Simple, clean lines, and fast. Great shot.
