So, it sounds like we have some experienced painters here. Any recommendations as to the type of primer and paint to use on the type of steel (whatever it is) that a roll bar is made out of?

My local powder coater did the rear half of the cage a year ago for $125. I decided to install the front half so he charged me another $125. I banged it around pretty good re-installing it and not one scratch. It holds up pretty well. I had a body shop paint a roll bar on a Miata once and it didn't hold up very well. Powder coat is the way to go.

lol - yes, powder coat would be great, but the whole car would have to go into the oven, because my bar is welded to the chassis.

@Tomikaze, grab your hall sender connector and squeeze/twist gently. If it crumbles to dust, buy the replacement from EagleDay.com and swap it out - it's easy. That might be the source of your code.

@Cloud, if you were *really* committed, you'd put the car in the oven.

I'm getting an intermittent hall sender code, but the engine runs spectacularly at high rpm (feels like it wants to rev to 8K - amazing what the lightweight flywheel, lightweight Pauter forged rods, Wossner pistons, and a good balance job can do), and I thought the symptom of a bad hall sender is a miss at high rpm, so I'll give EagleDay (or eagleday...) a look. Thanks for the tip.
