My new "project" Tip Coupe had a complete motor (top and bottom) refresh by Pete @ RSBarn not too long ago, so I'd be interested in popping a chip in there. Hell, I might actually enjoy driving it at that point....lol

Did this chip ever materialize? I'd love to put one in my tip. I tried a FR Wilk PowerPROM with less than stellar results. I bought a RS Barn stage 1 but was saving hat for the 6 speed that I am currently in the process for restoring so a chip custom made for a tip would be nothing short of outstanding. Keep us updated on the possibility of this happening. Thanks

I'd purchase one as well; currently searching for a 94.5-95 tiptronic coupe as a gift for the parents.

I'm eagerly awaiting news on this chip. But I did have a question as to the tiptronic "brain" as it were. Is there anyway or has there ever been any way of adding an aftermarket chip to the tiptronic brain and change some of the performance characteristics of the transmission. I know that there were chips available for the early Audi transmissions that decreased shift times and sort of matched the dme upgrades to the gearbox. Is this possible with the 968 tip brains?

no idea. the trans has a brain that can "learn" from how you drive. it has 5 programs. the harder you drive, the higher the program. not sure i would want to get in there and mess with that.

Always thought it would be pretty cool to have a rotary switch and be able to select your own mode.

it is cool. the new X5 has 4 modes at the touch of a button (eco, comfort, sport and sport +)

Any update on the availability of the 'Tip Chip'? I'd welcome the opportunity to try one out in my '92 Tip cab.

Flash, I just found this old thread and was really geeked - until I saw the last post was 3 years ago. If this was available for $100 I'd pre-pay right now! This is exactly what my '93 Cab Tip needs - better throttle response and a lil' more zip.

D1R is on indefinite hold.  i didn't have the time before i left to put together all the pieces for any deal for its perpetuation.  i won't be considering anything at all for many weeks at best.  there are no products on the shipment.  at this time i would not anticipate anything becoming available any time soon
