So I finally got off my duff to order a Stage 1 chip form RS Barn. I can't wait to get it installed. I just hope that I am not too busy on the weekends to put it in once I receive it. Need time to do the airbox mod as well. I will write back after I get it installed.

Measured the performance along the way. If you have a gtech meter you can measure the HP and your 0 -60 before drilling the box. Measure again after the ABM, add chip and measure a final time.
I will still do this as well assuming I can just tape off the holes or get another air box.
I love my 968 for what it is & don't hate it for what it isn't!

The thing about the chips is that they really ruin your gas mileage. There's just too much tempation to hold the foot on the floor and let it rev to the limit.

Thank you everyone. I'm really excited. I have a Corrado as well but I have decided to put all my focus on my 968. Over the next few years I will be replacing various interior parts. Started with the floor mats. Beautiful start. I even ordered little plastic pieces to replace on the sunroof hinges. There was one missing screw on the original hinges and it had me all upset. I have cracks on my headlight cover and I have ordered new covers for both sides. Just need to get them painted now. Kinda getting that anal.
This car has really got me thinking about making it the best I can. No other car has made me try to do that.

Believe me, I've been bitten pretty hard. Looking for a late 80's early 90's 911. Have to wait till I sell one of my other cars, but I am keeping an eye open for one at all time.

Porsches have a way of getting into your blood... As is obvious, I have been bitten by the bug... a few times!

lol - too true - my 968 is CAPABLE of getting the best mileage of any of my cars - what it usually really gets, and where that ranks, is another story altogether, and usually too close to the denali for my comfort
to add insult to injury, i mix in 4-5 gallons of 100 octane in each tank, at a staggering $8.00/gallon
98 octane over here in Europe is 9,06$$$ a gallon.
So you have cheap petrol in your country!
Even when you use 100 octane racing fuel!

And that is roughly equal to our 93 octane, which around my area is about $3.40

9 buck a gallon gas would produce riots in this country...this economy will collapse...more than 90% of the US work force drives to work with no other means to get from point A to B...I for one am pretty upset of the fact of a $70 dollar fill up. Unfortunately...we all better get use to it...even though are great leader in an interview laughed at the idea yesterday...what’s he smoking?

Flash thanks for the retort but to think less than a 100 yrs of industrial fortitude has put a dent in the oil reserves of this planet is liking to the thought of us running out of water....don’t drink the cool aid and as for the debate on environmental impact to our carbon burping cars heating up the planet. Please...the solar system is much too dynamic for us to make assertions with respect to weather phenomenon. The Suns output, the Earths orbit and countless other undiscovered reasons as to the why, what, and how.
More than likely....GREED
Oh and by the way...I walk to work and take a trolley to shop for food

Ah, the chip...that’s what it was...lol
I am interested to know how you feel prying the back off your very expensive ECM. I have a Racer X chip that needs to go in so if you could send a photo or two that would be cool.
