Old thread, but I just finished my oil cooler conversion and discovered a neat trick which my local hose shop did for me.
I removed the rubber hose portion of my oil lines and thought that a hose shop would be able to crimp on a new line for me. No, they said it wouldn't work with the -12AN fittings and hose I wanted to use. I was a little miffed, but eventually the guy said that because the OE hardware was heavy duty steel he could braze on -12An fittings and that would solve the problem. It only cost about $10 labor for each line.
FYI - The original hose is 5/8
