The update is that some poor (rich) sap paid $499 for the one on ebay with a chipped corner.

No worries Bob, it's better to do it right than to have to do it twice.

after about 8 back and forth reworks on the artwork, they are now saying they just can't get what i want. now they tell me i need to get a 3D scan. i wish they would have told me that in the beginning. it's not a big deal. heck, i can buy a 3D scanner for about $600.

lame lame lame

Maybe this could be your new project. You could have a catalogue of many types of cars. Or just the ones you like! lol

$600 to 3D scan your car? Sounds like a bargain. Can I borrow it when you are finished? I'd like to scan Scarlet Johansson.

So, does this mean that the 3D crystal is not going to happen?

How difficult is it for any company do get something right the first time these days? It seems to get worse and worse, like people are getting more and more careless. What a waste of time and money.

I think it has more to do with pride, detail and task completion. Depending on your business, completing orders and making customers happy is essential to competitiveness and long term success. Often times even successful business's over time lose sight of what produced their success. Most companies eventually fall prey to that dreaded management mistake of the " Peter Principal". A business can manage this mistake but it takes a complete buy in from upper management to manage the problem. Most upper managers pray at the altar of dictate and fail understand the essentially simple concept of follow up!

Factor in the dumbing down of our educational process, couple in the loosey goosey it will get done when it gets done and spread some it will eventually work out and you get problems such as Flash is running into.

Flash, can we help defer your costs for the development of the piece? I'd be happy to help you throw some money at this project.
