968 3D Crystal Model
#21
I think the model, years produced, and total number of coupes and/or cab's would add to the appeal, and maybe even educate a few folks about these under rated cars.
that would be great IMO , provided there is space to have all that info ( etched ? or, on a plaque ? ) somewhere that does not make it look too cluttered

And flash ; if you do the above, don't even think of writing in " hardtop " instead of coupe, unless you want to see how fast you can duck to avoidi flying crystal projectiles aimed at you, LOL

Count me for a coupe. I have long admired Don's crystal.

nope. sorry. i'm doing them as delivered. too many variables, and each one is an entirely different 3D rendering, regardless of the change.

interesting side note:

because there will likely only be about 25 of each of these, they will be 4 times more rare than the german club version. i think this will make it the rarest 968 memorabilia item ever produced

lol - it will be interesting to see how many show up on ebay

Yeah, I was confused for a second too with "Breaking Bob" and his crystal

I'd take a coupe if it wasn't sent UPS! Although I could have it sent to WA if Langley was in on the deal, he's such a nice guy.

Thanks Dave!

I would be interested in one of each... and yes, Dave's order could be shipped together with mine.

I would be interested if the price were a bit lower - I still have a D1R part to order and need the cash - lol

I have this 3D crystal model from Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) in my office. It came with a base that has an LED light which rotates through several color tones. Could be a cool effect to see the 968 in different colors.

I thought the 968Forums mouse pad was a good touch for the picture.

I have one as a golfer with a Led lite. After a period of time plugging and unplugging the light I took to crystal off and just left it in the spot it was in. Just my two cents. Perhaps a base could be optional. Ink, this is a separate purchase from any care expenses. Book it Dano! lol

I was not trying to suggest that the 968 3D Crystal model come with a base, such as the one I posted a picture of. I will use THAT base to see the effect the differnt LED lights have on the model. The base I have is battery powered.

i get it. it has started me thinking of a custom display base to light up the ones i will have. wouldn't be hard to make.

So is it me or is there more coupe owner interest than cab owners?

lol - we're too busy enjoying the cars

but yeah - about 2 to 1 right now

i also notice that there are more multiple coupe owners than multiple cab owners. maybe they are just in search of a car that does everything, and haven't realized that they can have that in a cab

Perhaps owners that have more than one car(coupe) feel more passion! Lol
