Part 2 of G's INTAKE mod
#1

Hey guys,

I pretty much finished my intake mod. I made the shield out of thick paper first, then aluminum. I also mounted the air filter to the shield to hold it up a few inches to utilize the bottom of the filter better.

The throttle response is unbelievable. I will try to dyno soon. I also brought home some thermal couples to measure the intake temp...just to see how effective the barrier is in keeping the air as close to ambient as possible.

Check out the pics.

Now you need a hood scoop. J\k

Looks like a clean install, good work, keep us posted after the dyno.

Cloud9...68 the intake sounds great. Nice growl at WOT.

I hooked up my thermal couples yesterday. One placed on the back side of the filter and one in the air stream just after the MAF meter. At any speed, the filter/box air is @ the outside ambient. The air just after the MAF meter is also within a degree or two of the ambient, but takes a bit longer to get down to the ambient temp after a stop in traffic.

All in all, I am happy with the mod.

Josho, good idea with hood scoop. Increase pressure/induction...

I believe Josho was joking about the scoop. The factory inlet for the intake does a great job of getting air to the intake.
