Trailing arm bushings?
#1

The 968 parts catalogue does not show individual bushings for the trailing arm, unlike 944. My trailing arms have to come down to separate the alignment plates that have become fused to one another, wondering what could be serviced while in there, including these bushings.

those images are for the early 944 with steel trailing arms,

the later 944 with alloy arms are the same as the 968, they can be replaced but your only choice is FlowFlex, PowerFlex, and you have to leave behind the steel shell of the old bush, the alloy is too soft for just the bush alone, I would be surprised if they are worn out

I can tell you Part 2 in the 968 image is an absolute horror to replace, my buddy snapped his spring plate flange trying to get the new one in, Items 4 and 11 the mounts come to close on $1000, and the spring plates (item 23) the rubber bushes have to be cut / burnt off to replace with powerflex silicone or elephant racing solid, but I would not use solid unless its a track car,

you can buy remade ones

Re: rubber removal on the spring plate. It’s not a hard or difficult task as the #2 bushing is. For the spring plate use a MAP torch on the inside of the plate. Let it set for 5 minutes or until the rubber is soft. The rubber will then come off in one piece and when cool, a wire brush takes the residue easily off. It took me one to figure out the easier way.

Messy and smelly but worth it, they are normally far from the right shape when removed
