My 968, that is now mainly used on the track, has developed vibrations under braking. After reading a previous post here and consulting my mechanic I'm pretty sure its the brakes and not another problem. So question is what to do now. After reading here on this forum and this article (http://www.stoptech.com/tech_info/wp_war...isk.shtml#) I'm assuming that the vibrations are due to uneven deposits of pad material on the disks and perhaps cementite build up.
Options are
1. Live with it. Under hard braking on the track the vibrations are less of a problem. Since I rarely use the car on the street I could just wait till the disks are worn enough to replace. Is there other damage being done as a result of the vibrations? The braking performance still seems OK.
2. Replace the disks and bed them in properly. Is it advisable to replace pads as well? I thought I read somewhere that pads may be compromised as well?
3. Resurface the pads and hope that the cementite deposits are removed. The vibrations began 2 track days ago and became worse on my last track outing. Perhaps they can be removed easily enough (?) The disks still have a fair bit of life in them.
Happy to accept any advice and wisdom gained from your experiences
Cheers
