I bought the Arrnworx tool to do the balance shaft belt, and the job, start to finish took about an hour the first time I used the tool. Now that I have figured out and understand the directions, I should be able to check and then adjust the balance shafts belt, start to finish, in about a half hour.

Thanks, but I guess I meant how long does it take you to do a complete belt replacement. I've done the balance shaft belt, and that wasn't too bad, outside of setting the tension with that infernal tightening bolt/cam/ thingy

It will take me 2 hours to do the job completly. This means only the belts. 3 hours including the waterpump.

I wish! After the events at Fuji I'm happy for Lewis Hamilton and the team, but frankly upset about the Alonso not finishing the race and the bad rap the media has been giving him. Give the guy a break, he's "only" been F1 Champion twice already!

2 - 3 hours sounds about right. I have gotten much better at the belts and made a few special tools to help me get the betls on and off. Easy to do the job is less than 2 hours now. Amazing what Porsche gets for this job.

I'm amazed you guys are able to do the job in 2-3 hours. Based on what I've heard mechanics charging for this job, I assumed it was more like 2-3 days! So it doesn't sound like there's much more to it than changing the balance shaft belt, which I've done, and found not to be too bad, though I think it took me the better part of a day!
