It's a BPR6EIX. I got mine online from autozone.com as they weren't available locally.

Just for comparison - they were $2.99 each. I got 4 delivered with tax for $19.41.

Maybe the gaskets around the plug holes needs to be replaced. If the are bad you will defo see oil in the holes...

I finally got out and picked up a set of NGK Iridiums. Now, two questions:

1. Has anyone found either brand of copper anti-seize other than online, and if so where?

2. What is the collective wisdom on plug gap? .028" +/- .004" is of course recommended, but has anyone read/found any information on starting out at .024" for example, on a vehicle that gets driven very little? Will I know? Will I care? Will my mother care?

i just use the silver stuff - seems to be fine

anywhere in the tolerance range will accommodate the engine in normal conditions - i measured the first few sets of plugs, and they all seemed to be dead on in the middle - i stopped bothering

however, that being said, if you have a good strong running engine and no signs of issues, and you drive the car hard all the time, then you can widen the gap to get a bit stronger and cleaner burn - you will have to ply with this to determine what works best for you and the way you drive, and you will go through a few sets of plugs to figure it out

this is also affected by the temperature setting of the plug you are running

this all was much more of a factor on older engines, but with today's computer controls, it has become far less of an issue

A local auto parts store ( Kohlweiss ) with only three locations in the Bay Area had it on the shelf.. Napa, Kragen, Autozone or Pep Boys only carried the silver when I was looking for this a couple of months ago.

I ordered some NGK Iridium spark plugs on eBay cause they are hard to get over here (or at least that was my impression) but I was sent the BKR6EIX instead of the BPR6EIX. Before I go through the trouble of getting them swapped, is there any reason why I wouldn't be able to use them? Only difference I could find is the 5/8" socket instead of 13/16" but I might very well be missing something. Any info welcome! <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/smile.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

i picked up the phone and called them



there are 2 differences between the K and P



1. the K has a solid fixed terminal, whereas the P is threaded on



2. the K is 5/8" hex and the P is 13/16" hex

Thanks flash! My mechanic didn't want to install them (was there for another reason anyway not cause I cant put ina plug) as they are slightly less toll, he was worried the caps on the wires might not make proper contact.



So I guess I do have to convince this seller that they are in fact the wrong ones.
