SoCal Fun Run
#1

I'm planning a fun run in San Diego County this summer - July or August.

Looking at a 2-hour run with a mix of technical 3rd gear switch back, higher speed sweeper, and brief freeway sections. We ran the course today and it was a blast. There is a convenient stop about in the middle for coffee and a pit stop and loads of very nice scenery. A clean MAF and good brakes are a must. A change of underwear is optional, but not a bad idea...

Would look something like this.

8:30 - Coffee/Doughnuts at my place
9:00ish - Hit the road (it can get a wee bit hot in the back country where all the twisties are so early is better)
Post-run - Back to my place for lunch on the barbeque or to the coast for lunch at a local haunt - we can figure that one out later

Who might be interested?

BTW I saw a beautiful black cab black top classic grey interior near the El Cortez yesterday (and had no cards darn it). Would make a great addition to the California crew.

Thanks - Joe

Count me in......

Question. About "A change of underwear is optional, but not a bad idea...". Is that before we come to meet people or after the run? Or is that why they call it a run?

Roland - after one particularly technical section the spare drawers might come in handy...

Any of those Saturdays is fine, probably slight preference to the 17th and 24th.

OK - 17th it is. Look for some additional postings.

Would love to get some additional folks from the surrounding areas. Brian, Jared - I know its a bit of a drive from SB, but would love to have you guys come on down if you can.

This will be primarily a driving event, so bring your gloves, but Roland and I will look at the post-run activities and come up with something simple. Eats, drinks, and cars. If we can figure out how to include some hot women Rader I know that will keep you interested

finally i think i see the light at the end of the tunnel and can get my car prepped for this run - whew!

i still have a bit to do, including mounting new tires, and hopefully getting the new top done, but all of that has to wait until after i finish the supercharger work, which has been held up by a bracket

looking forward to this though - it has been entirely too long since i last drove the car

I'd love to make this run - but getting my rolling restoration ready for a serious run is a big challenge. Gotta finish alignment, fix the new tranny fluid leak. Grrrrr... Count me as a long shot for now, but likely for a fall run!
