San Diego County Fun Run - Take 2
#1

Thinking about organizing a quick fun run in the San Diego area. Would be a Saturday or Sunday early so the roads are clear. December is upon us so would need to be 7/8, 14/15, or 21/22.

Nothing fancy. Meet - eat a doughnut, burn some gas, drink a cold one, and head out.

I've put together a 70-odd mile loop that takes about 90 minutes start to finish and is a blast - a combination of high speed sweepers, highly technical turns, and everything in between.

I've done the loop a dozen times and love it. A few of us did the run a few years ago - time to do it again.

Let me know who might be interested.

The hard thing about being in SoCal is finding time to work on the inside of the house....

Driving a cabriolet on the other hand - no better place.

Still on for this Saturday 14 Dec. I'd like to leave at 8 AM so that we will get at least a few pieces of open road on the run (I am also happy to leave earlier if you guys can do it). So plan to arrive at my place no later than 7:45. I'll have doughnuts and coffee ready so gas up, check your oil, and lets go!

I'll PM Rick, flash and cruse my address and phone number.

Anyone else who may be interested please post here or PM me.

Looking forward to it.

This is California dude - there's a winery within 15 miles of anything.

To answer your question directly... we are driving right by several of them. Tempting to stop but the corners and elevation changes in that area are way better than any wine <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/wink.png" class="smilie" alt="" /> If I remember I'll take a picture as I zip by.

I would love to but this time of year is particularly busy. Plus I am taking delivery of a new vehicle. Of course it being December we are forecast for up to a foot of snow tomorrow! So enjoy your ride boys and remember, "live for the moment". What bs huh? Lol

system has a decent tune on it. everything working. fueled up. destination programmed.

as long as i don't end up with a hangover tomorrow from the wife's company xmas party tonight, i should be good to go.

oof - just saw the arrival time - that's gonna be a cold drive. i have the top down, as i anticipated it being later. hmmm. may have to rethink that. i have heated seats and all that, but still................
