that would be...me ?!

ok, first spare moment in almost one month to either read and/or post anything..

hey, with the world cup going on, I have no time for eating, sleeping, much less for chatting..

cleared one hurdle at home to make this happen but now will have to deal with a much bigger hurdle at work ( late Friday meeting with the CFO and two board

"dudes" ) and I may not be able to get out of it..

Anyway, by Wednesday pm or Thursday at the latest I'll know if I can take a quick 900 mile weekend drive or not.

keep 'yer fingers crossed for me. this sounds like it will be too much damn fun

Well Bob, if you didn't get it fixed in time, I'm sure someone would have given you their empty passenger seat...Not me, but someone.

I'm sure I can speak for everyone - it was a good time had by all - the cars made it through the grueling course in searing 100˚ heat. Once back at casa de Flash, we were given a pop quiz and whoever had the high score won a prize, [I'll let Bob give the details]. I don't know about the rest, but I was watching the road and not the landmarks - none the less a fun time. The bbq was tasty, Bob's not a bad cook! We discussed fabbing and installing a sway-bar for his bbq...

Thanks again...!

In the one pic it appears Flash is checking his shorts... BTW, thanks for the squid award...

Here are a few pics:

Woo, looks like it was a great day to get out and have some fun on the trails. Did the 8 or so 968s draw attention all parked in a row?

There were plenty of people wondering what the heck was going on. One passerby made a comment about us all having the same new car parked in front...pretty funny to hear.

Bob great event once again, we had a great time. It was great seeing the old guys and meeting the new ones. I hope we can do something again soon...(nudge nudge, Bob, trackday, nudge).

Hi guys,

I had a great time meeting you all and enjoyed the drive thoroughly... hard to believe roads like that exist so close to LA. Bob, thanks for organising the drive and a for a great bbq. Some pics below:

regards,

Aussie steve

yes, it is a bit surreal to see those roads so close to the craziness of LA - that's one of the reasons i like where i live - very close to downtown, but very much separated - the canyon drive to get here really changes your mindset in a hurry

i wish we hadn't have gotten stuck behind that suv for the last leg though - that section is a real challenge - that woman was a real piece of work - wouldn't pull over, and she was running on a left rear flat - arrrrrrgh!

oh well - the rest of the course was a lot of fun, and i think everybody got a feel for what these cars were built for - i look forward to doing another run soon

i also look forward to seeing kris' shots

I tried to go online at home Saturday after the days events to see everyone's pics but could not get logged in until I made it into the office this morning. Fun run, fun group, fun to get caught up and fun to see all these cars in one place.......wow was it hot! Thanks flash for organizing the event and hosting the lunch. Can't wait to see more pictures. Looking forward to the next one.

Thank you Bob for organizing the run and hosting the event. I had alot of fun. the drive was great, the food was good, and enjoying the camaraderie among other 968 owners/friends. Given that I was always trailing behind toward the end of group, Bob bestowed the turtle award to me... That's all right, my excuses could be hey I just got the car, or didn't want to scare all those cyclists...

Looking forward to future local events soon,

Howard

Hmm I hit 100+ at one point... won't say where tho...

Yep, it sure was hot; I had to add some coolant once back home.

I'd like to thank the lady in the mercedes for not pulling over and splitting up the pack which led to my subsequent squid award...

Bob: I'll send you the contact info for Crown Perf. if you'd like to go forward with what we discussed.
