Rubber door seals
#1

The rubber seals around the drivers door have become "frayed" and I need to replace them. So, does anyone know the part nos and best place to purchase. I would replace both sides.

Thanks everyone. I don't have acces to PET. Now, for a follow up, is there anyhting to know about removing and installing. It seems to glued in place or is it a force fit?

There are few, if any, 968 part numbers. Most 968-specific parts have 944 part numbers. There are also 928, 924, and 964 part numbers on our cars...

Cosimo - I think you are looking for 944 537 091 03 and 944 537 092 03. See page 175 of the online PET.

There are some other part numbers listed. A bit confusing. This might be a good conversation with Sunset Porsche in Oregon, as they usually are very good at deciphering the PET and have great prices.

I ordered 944 537 091 and 092 from Pelican for $78.50 each. It indicated that these were also for the 968. Do I need rubber adhesive to install? The seals seemed to be glued in place. It would seem you need some type of metal type putty knife to get the old seals out and clean out the groove.

i would use a plastic putty knife if you have to use a knife - one slip with a metal one and you will be headed for the bar

I replaced my door seals - they pull out quite easily, i used a thin plastic scraper to get in the channel when removing the glue. I used a contact adhesive (Evo) when replacing.

It is a good opportunity to tighten up the very thin door trim at the rear of the door (at the bottom of the 'B' post on the door (there are little tabs that fold behind the door seal)

your right plastic makes sense and contact cement seems right.
