Brake pad R & R
#21

BMW also "requires" that rotors be replaced with every brake job. Hogwash! I measured the rotors on my daughter's 325i when I last replaced the pads, and they had TONS of life left, so I turned them. I'm not saying that you'll get as lucky with 968 rotors - as Flash says, measure them, and only turn them if the thinnest point is above spec - but don't necessarily assume you'll need new rotors. It depends a lot on the hardness of your pads.

rxter,

I am running RS4 pads on OEM rotors, but mine have been drilled and sloted.

No problems with wear, but you will hear/feel a small grumble/drag sound when you brade.

No big deal, just some seat-of-the-pants braking feedback.
