Rear Quarter Window Removal
#1

Has anyone ever removed the rear quarter windows from a 968 coupe? I'm installing a Safety Devices cage in my '94, and was advised that I would need to remove the quarter windows in order to fit part of the cage. I was told that they could be carefully pried out and then pressed back in again, but it's possible that the person that told me that was thinking of a 944. The 968 shop manual indicates that they are glued in and must be "cut" out using a vibrating knife.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Mike

it is indeed bonded in there - it is a sealant/adhesive compound - in one of my 968 books, i have a picture of it going in at the factory, complete with a caption describing it

sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but it looks like your info is correct
