Strange locking problem.
#1

When I lock my doors with the key, the locks pop down, wait half a second, and pop back up again. Anybody had this happen before?

Are you trying to lock the car with the door open? That is normal behavior to keep you from locking the keys in the car. Or perhaps the door pin switch is not functioning.

Jon, in addition to what Dave mentioned, is this before or after you replaced the ALARM system? (FYI - I just went through a few issues this weekend with the alarm when I replaced the DS door handle and it ended up that I unlugged one of the door lock wires by accident - took me hours to realize what happened.)

I recall you had alarm problems / fried the module and had to get a replacement from your earlier posts - so go over the alarm install routine when you swapped the alarm modules. Esp. watch the GROUNDS, check all the connectors again and clean off dirty/bent pins etc. Sounds like the lock actuators think the doors are ajar = either the DS or the PS.

I went through the factory Alarm diagnosis and although very detailed, it was cryptic and never came up with the simple answer in my case - cable was disconnected but the alarm LED still worked as it was triggered by the lock actuator and NOT the door lock switch!!!!

Just go back and recheck your installation and make sure BOTH doors are closed. - I left the DS window open just in case I had to get it though!!

i had a similar problem when i first installed my bulldog keyless.

my problem was because i didn't leave the similar colored wires connected together off of the security brain. i think there were 4 different groups of 4 wires left nicely for us to tap into. i split up the groups thinking that it didn't matter that they were all together. it made the system act very, very funny.

once i grouped the similar colors back together again, everything has been great.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys. I did indeed have to replace the alarm module, and I was in the middle of the Bulldog install. Didn't mention that right away, just to keep the minds unbiased.

I've gone over everything a few times, but I can't find anything askew. Guess I'll have to start using the hammer method...

It has been awhile, but I had this happen on my 944S a few years back. I think it was one of the pin switches in the door jam that was bad. Check and make sure the interior lights go on and off with both doors. This is a good way to tell if there is a switch problem. If the switch does not tell the car the door is closed, it will pop the locks open.

This was the fix as I remember it. A lot of beer under the bridge since then though. Hope this helps.
