My outside temp display works and illuminates perfectly during daytime with the headlights off. At night when I switch on the headlights, the display turns black, no display and no illumination. Do I need to replace the temp display? It's expensive!

It sounds like just the lamp needs replacing. It should backlight when you turn on the lights. Mine had the same problem. I bought 2 bulbs (1 for spare). It was about a 10 minute fix. Search the forum and you'll find some good instructions on it.

I changed the bulb and still the same problem. It only lights up when the headlights are turned off.

sounds like 2 pins are reversed - no idea how that would happen

I guess I will just disconnect the illumination pin so that it will stay on day-illumination even when the headlights are on. Looks pretty cool that way too!
