Rear Wiper not returning to position
#1

Hi all.
My rear wiper works fine except that it will not return to the initial position. It will stop at whichever position it is on at the moment I turn it off. It seems that something in the motor that tells it to return to the initial position is not working. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Do a advanced search,I am pretty sure this issue was discussed a couple of months ago. If iirc it was t-bone that had the issue.

The solution is in the forum. There is a pin that drops out of the center of the arm motor (inside) and jams the mechanism from returning. You will know if it this problem by touching the wiper motor. It will be hot even though it's not moving as it's trying to return home but it can't! Dissassemble the motor, push the pin back into it's hole and try to dimple the edge so it won't come out again. I used a machinist punch to make very tiny burrs on the mating face. You can't loctite it as everything is all greasy.
