Power Window Problem
#1

The drivers side window on my 94 Cabe goes up just fine until the last inch or so, then it slows to a crawl. I can hear the motor struggling, but the window barely moves. If I grab the top of the window and pull, it does go up all the way. I've checked the channel to see if there is any obstruction, but didn't see or feel anything, and I've lubricated it with silicon spray. Interestingly, it only happens going up, going down is not a problem. My fear is that if I don't fix it, I'll eventually burn the window motor out. Has anyone experienced a similar problem or have any ideas what the issue is?

You're not going to like the answer to this, but I experienced EXACTLY the same thing...so here's the part you won't like : it's been so long that I cannot remember specifically what tne problem was , or what tne fix was. I want to say just replacing the motor was the fix, because I don't recall my mechanic mentioning that of the levers or cables were obstructed or bent or needed anything to be repaired other than the motor itself. But again, my memory fails me...

You need to pull the door pad and check the rollers. Also, make sure the metal channel on the bottom of the window has not shifted. The glue deteriorates and they will slide on the bottom of the window. You can take them off, clean them up, and glue it back on in the proper location.

If you observe the mechanism in operation the problem should become apparent.
