I have been using 15w/50 Mobil 1, but it seems that it is no longer being sold locally; Walmart and Advance Auto don't carry it. I can get it on line, but it's $10 a quart compared to $22 for 5 quarts when walmart had it. My 968 is predominantly tracked and I live in the Northeast, but don't track beyond November and don't start until March and it's not driven much on the street.



What is(are) appropriate alternative oil weight(S)?

That's a pretty common oil, I'd be surprised if they are not carrying it anymore. Try talking to someone at Walmart. Otherwise there are other synthetics, I use Amsoil 10w40 Premium as it has the extra ZDDP.

Funny thing is that when I asked walmart, they said they never carried it. Obviously wrong because that's where I got it last time. Today, they had no 40 or 50 and nothing higher than 10w.

stores like walmart stock what they get bulk deals on



you can get it at most any auto parts store though



if you are tracking the car, i'd use amsoil or redline anyway
