I ahve not had a radio in my 2nd one for 3,000 miles- just the sound of the car. God I need to hook up my stereo. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/smile.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

[quote name='bigkahuna' date='Aug 27 2006, 03:34 PM']Just had my 968 dropped off. I actually like the Porsche radio with 6 CD changer included, but was disappointed when I pushed the power button the unit lit up but nothing shows on the viewing screen-tape, cd, whatever. Is she dead?

If nothing displays on the front you most likely have a power problem, not a code issue.
You should have a fuse (flat style) on the back of the head unit, you may have to remove the head unit to check the fuse.
The stock units have had many problems as they've aged, do a search and you'll see that one side of the output going caput is one of the more common ones.

(From the owners Manual)
"...In such a case, push the BAND SELECTOR (AM/FM) Switch for more than 2 seconds and "CODE" will appear in the display and you can enter the code again."
Hope that this helps,
Jay

Damn Jay I should have made you drive my car back from Pa, it would have had a radio working in it by now. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/smile.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

I missed the part about the unit lighting up....my error.
On my 911 the flashing C O D E came on the display within 2 sec. of powering the unit up. My mistake again. I'll shut up now.

Put in the number without the 0. That works on my CR-1.
