<img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/smile.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> Come to Annapolis on June 18, 2011! Home of the best Maryland crabs, the Naval Academy, and the 'Sailing Capital of the U.S.' <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/cool.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />
PCA Chesapeake Region is having its 50th Anniversary Celebration at the Navy/Marine Corps Stadium on Saturday, June 18th. A historic display of 50 Porsches for 50 Years, along with a People's Choice event begins at noon (car placement starts at 10am). Hospitality Tent opens at 9:30, and will have seating for lunch (purchased at the stadium concessions). 4:00 - awards. 5-6:00 Cocktail hour at the Gala Banquet, followed by seating for the banquet and other festivities until 10:00 pm. (Or we could blow off the banquet and hit a local restaurant) For more info and registration for the PCA Chesapeake 50th Anniversary event: http://www.pcachs.org/50th_anniv.html
Would be great to have a large turnout of 968's!!! And we could make a weekend of it -- how about a Fun Run on Sunday, driving over to St. Michaels on the Eastern Shore? We did that four years ago and it was a big hit. And/or we could go sailing on the Bay!
Another choice for Sunday is the PCA Mega Car Show in northern Virginia at Sully Plantation (an hour west of Annapolis).
Annapolis is within easy reach for a lot of East Coast 968 owners. 30 miles east of Washington, D.C., and 30 miles south of Baltimore...lots to do!
Let me know what you think, and if you could make it for the 18th and/or 19th, and I'll offer to coordinate plans accordingly.
Cheers!
