Soo, since I have bought into the upgraded injectors am I out in the cold if say I need a new one several years down the road. Should I buy a spare set and stick back or is a spare set available now?

hmmm - never thought about that scenario. of course, i can have as many sets made up as i want. i just never thought about selling replacements. there is no reason to think though that these would not last every bit as long as the OEM ones. those made it 20 years. these should too. remember that we are not running them that hard either. i'm not pushing these any harder than the OEM ones were pushed on a stock car.



i'll look into that though.

Great. Like you, I doubt ever needing them and would hate to invest yet when the deal is gone may never be able to find one to match the others and then one is screwed. Perhaps just a 5th one for a spare if nothing else.

well, today started out great. i packed everything and i got out of the house nice and early. traffic was light. the weather was beautiful. we both got there early enough this time to get all the sensors hooked up and everything before our appointment.



that's where the fun stopped.



it looks like the MAF has gone wonky. one run was different from the next, with no changes made. we tried and checked everything we could. things were just weird. last week, the runs were very consistent and everything made sense. today, everything was confused and wonky.



i just wanted to see if i could clean up a couple of spots. i was just being anal. i know that any difference i could make would not make a hill of beans of difference in driving or power. still, i wanted to try. the two spots i wanted to mess with though, are also spots on the OEM curve i would like to see different. i've been fighting the same two spots on every car, and every version. i think it just may be the nature of the engine.



well, anyway, i'm giving up at this time. i don't want to push this particular car any more. it has 100k on it, on the original head gasket, and it has the 18lb flywheel with an unmodified nose cone (i already had one fly out on the dyno and don't need another). with this new problem showing up, i think i'm pushing my luck.



so, i'm going to ship the first batch of kits with the file i have now. it's very nice, and as safe as anything can be. i was really quite fine with it before, but i figured, as long as i had a chance........(i really need to learn to get over that impulse)



if i have an opportunity later on, and i find any difference worth doing anything about, i'll issue an update chip. i seriously doubt i'll find anything though.

each stage has a different chip, specifically tuned to that stage. i am shipping both the stage 2 and stage 3 chips to those who ordered both kits.



this allows you to go back to the OEM injectors if you need to.

not yet - it would have to be something pretty tragic to prevent you from just having the injector reworked. i mean, when is the last time you heard of somebody having to replace an injector? i'll have the conversation later this week though.

Is there going to be a "consolidated" set of instructions for those of us installing all three stages at once?

no - you need both sets. the stage 3 instructions point you back to stage 2. it's not confusing though. basically you start on the stage 2 set, and then it tells you when to jump to stage 3, which then tells you when to jump back to stage 2.



neither one involve stage 1, or require any changes to stage 1 (other than the chip install)
