D1R Stage 3 SC Fuel Pressure Regulating Valve
#1

Been a long time since I've posted, but I'm still a proud 968 owner. After many years I'm still very happy with my supercharger installation. It's been pretty much trouble free and is a great performer. Earlier this summer the engine became very hard to start, and the only way it would start was with the throttle wide open. It then took some fancy footwork to keep it running until it warmed up a bit. Symptoms matched a bad idle regulating valve (I watched a bunch of YouTube videos to learn this.) I changed the idle regulating valve (a real PITA to do) with no improvement. Checked all vacuum lines carefully, and they all seemed good. Initially I discounted a problem with the fuel pressure regulating valve because the pressure on the rail was right at 50psi and hardly changed if I revved it a bit. Other symptoms though made me suspicious such as  terrible fuel mileage, black soot in the tailpipe and a fuel smell that hung around after starting. After some YouTube videos on this topic, I tried pulling the vacuum hose off this FPR in the garage and low and behold raw gas came out.

So I've got a D1R Stage 3 supercharger FPR valve with a torn diaphragm.  Has anyone else had to replace theirs? Can you point me to a make and model and source? I did a search on this site and the internet in general and couldn't find anything. Thanks

Thanks Dan. I was able to get in touch with Bob, and fortunately he was able to point me in the right direction. The original supplier of these FPRs sells replacement diaphragms, and I now have 2 on order. I will post details of this separately. Hopefully most of those who have Stage 2 / 3 kits will see it.
