Genuine Porsche Timing Belt
#1

I have read many posts regarding the best brand for timing/balance shaft belts. No one mentions the OEM belt. I have never used an aftermarket belt or an original supplier belt. Only genuine Porsche (I know Porsche does not manufacture belts).

Everyone talks about the different brands available but I personally do not trust them. Could I assume that the BEST quality belt for my car is the genuine Porsche? Is it worth the money? Or do you guys think I am just wasting it?

I'll let the experts comment but my call is that you'll pay a premium to have the PORSCHE script printed on the belt. You can source the same belt PORSCHE is having their name printed on for less and that may or may not be the most durable product.

I just hung 2 GATES on a cab last Friday. They are one of the preferred brands.

currently (at least as of a month ago, and from sunset) porsche is stocking gates and dayco, which were the original designers and manufacturers (each being the appropriate one)
