Front Bar Cover Seal Strip Replacement
#1

Just about to have my front bar cover resprayed after removal. I've noted that the seal strips that were on there were retained in some places by small staples. Is this standard factory practice or has it been done by the "expert" who last resprayed the car? Your experience would be welcome...

As far as I know, it's not factory.. but it's not a bad way to keep them in place either. The other possibility is get some 3M weatherstrip adhesive and use that.

Agreed - my car doesn't have staples, but I used some silicone adhesive to keep them in place when taking the front bumper cover on and off (way too many times!).

I can't for the life of me figure out what a "front bar cover" is.

The big plastic piece that contains the grills, turn signals, and foglights, to which the "bat wing" front apron or splitter is attached to.

Hmmmm, I wouldn't be surprised if Porsche has a part # for these.
