Engine cover P O R S C H E inlays

Jeff I had mine powder coated (along with the Valve Cover) and it really came out good. The finish is very smooth now and the dust & dirt do not get stuck on, just wipes off with a dust cloth. Regular painting will work fine as well, some people have changed the color of theirs. Good luck, Bob Blackwell.

I received an E-mail reply from Veronique yesterday. The letters should start shipping out on Monday. They have added more metal colors, so if you want to change the color, you should e-mail her asap.

Being in Washington, I expect mine to get here by mid week.

I had a few engine parts powder coated Guards Red to match the car's exterior while the car was getting a 30,000 mile service.

Check it out:

Oops, how did that one get in there. Now I'm waaay off topic (but in a good way).

Porsche, Wow, that looks great! (the engine isn't bad either)........the black letters will compliment the Red color nicely.

Flash, I will stick with my Black letters - don't want to be a "copy cat". The Midnight Blue Metallic should look great too. Someday I want to drive your 968 with the light flywheel. I will probably need a clutch someday soon and am considering the lightweight flywheel at the same time. Good luck, Bob Blackwell.

I've been navigating around the Jager site out of idle curiosity. I found this*, where mention is made of their custom mixing a metallic engine paint as part of a restoration project. So I guess it's possible. I'm continuing to research...

May be the blue letters they have are the same shade of blue as the new ignition wires

Yellow is one of the custom options: about 2 - 3 weeks lead time... just as the blue set I ordered.

just got the letter sets today. they fit perfectly.

the black ones look great. the blue are also very nice, but as I said before I am

banking on them being very close to the blue of the plug wires set I have on order from Paragon ( still sitting here tapping my fingers, waiting... , but it should be any day now.. ). otherwise, I might have to paint the blue to match the wire set shade, OR just put the black ones on.. I'll see what looks better.

btw, hard to describe the shade of blue ( and photos often distort the color so

no point in taking a picture ) but it's very close to / may be just a touch darker than the "riviera blue" color 968s came in

My black letters arrived too and I have installed them. They really set off the silver valve cover and other engine trim items well. Good job! Bob Blackwell.

Hopefully Cosimo's showed up as well, he was not happy they weren't in before the 968 celebration.

My P-O-R-S-C-H-E letter spaces were hand painted ( blue ) , so I guess I should not just place the new letters over the painted area - or, does it make a difference ? Thinking they will adhere better on the base metal...or will they ??

If I need to remove the paint should I just use paint thinner ? I'd hate to get the rest of the cover messy with runny color from the thinning / wipe off process which might be a p.i.t.a. to clean off..
