funny - i just saw the same thing on another site - i am SO into that - solves a big problem for me
I've got to get that in wood -- just because I can!
Great discovery. I just ordered a set in black.
Cool, I was just contemplating how I could add paint to the PORSCHE logo. Just ordered them in red. I also liked the oil cap. I sure it's nice but at $114 it's a little pricey.
Sweet!

Nice to look at while I wait for the towtruck.

Looks like the ignition switch.
These look very nice. Maybe a dumb question, but how are these attached or are they just held in place by a snug fit? I also wonder how well they hold up to the heat cycles, or if they should really only be put in there temporarily for showing off the engine bay. Any thoughts?
Any decent adhesive should be able to withstand the moderate temperatures that develop on this trim piece: it's not in direct contact with anything that gets particularly hot.

You guys that are buying them: sure would appreciate it you posted photos after you install!!!!
That looks great John, where do I order the letters for my valve cover? Looked all over the site with the pictures, but don't see where to order the letters. Thanks, Bob Blackwell.
Sorry- I broke that link out of a frameset, so it's hard to navigate.

Here's the frame which contains the ordering info.

Snap a pic for us, OK? <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/biggrin.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />
Thanks John, I just ordered them in black which should really look good against the silver powdercoated valve cover. Will post picture after the install. good luck, Bob Blackwell.
ordering mine in silver and in black, painting the silver to match the iris blue color, and if I'm not pleased with the result, I'll put the black ones in.

the metal oil cap - very nice but for $ 125 ( incl. tax ) I'd expect it to have a digital gauge indicating the oil level..

Hey, there's an idea ! How come these aftermarket geniuses can't come up with something like that ? Not millions, but BILLIONS to be made with that gadget, IMHO <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/dry.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> Sure, this would be at the expense of the bowtie-wearing, neatly creased uniformed Texaco service station attendants jobs who check the dipstick while the other washes your window... wait, come to think of it I haven't seen those guys around for about a year or two <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/tongue.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> .. never mind.
That site that is selling the letters shows a 944 valve cover. Does the 968 have the same size of lettering?

Don't know for sure, but my letters are in the mail and I shall let you know when they arrive next week. Good luck, Bob Blackwell.

Me too.

Actually they ask for the type of car that you have when you order and probably have different sets.
Well, I just ordered mine in black lettering. So, I guess a bunch of us will see how well the lettering fits. If it's wrong there are going to be some returns. ;-) Thanks Etnier for the heads up, great find!
i am waiting to see what happens with height and clearance to the strut tower brace - i am already having issues there, and need to replace my vanity cover

hmmm - maybe time to move on to getting the new brace made up

Ok, now I know you've taken leave of your senses - <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/tongue.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> The brace crosses only over the "R" , which is partially obscured anyway, because of the bar.. so what if it touches it ? You're going to spend $ 1,000 in R&D to clear one raised letter by 2mm ? <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/dry.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/rolleyes.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />
LOL DS! <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/biggrin.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

...but I've been putting off a purchase for just that reason as well! <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/blink.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />
well dan, i also wanted to get the wider flatter bar done for other reasons too - been putting off the project though - this is a perfectly good reason to get it done though
