How do you install the under hood storage compartment and rear plastic molding in the engine bay area on a 94 968?



Both pieces fit in place but I see no obvious screw holes or fitted slots in the metal to lock it in place.

The front piece, with the storage compartment, should just slip in place and stay, with nothing holding it. There are two twist "screws" on the left and right sides that would go into little clips, but those clips don't exist in the newer cars. I've had the piece for several years with no problem. Just place it, slide it forward so that the rubber "bumpers" are under the body, and you should be good to go.



The rear piece should have come with a number of metal clips that go on the plastic "edge that runs across the engine compartment and on which the plastic piece that is over the ventilation fan fits. Placed in little indentations that become obvious when you know to look for them, these clips then will hold the rear edge of the new trim piece in place. Nothing more is needed.

Hi I don't beleive there were cover pieces for the 1994 or 1995 968. I think the 1993 was the last year they came on the cars. I have heard of people installing them on later car but I don't know how they did it.

actually, it was a mid year change - the early 94s had them (they would also show code 718) - the late 94s did not



i happen to be installing these on the late 94 i just picked up - the front, as indicated above, sits in nicely, as long as you have the rubber pieces at the front edge to hold it in place - without them, it makes a racket while driving - the rear should work with just the clips, and no wing connection, and i ordered them, but most were back ordered, so i won't really know how well it works for a while yet
