Elephant sway bars
#1

I'm considering the adjustable sway bars from Elephant Racing. They list for the 944 but they ssould be the same for the 968 (right?). Has anyone any input on these?

They also have a lot of bushings for the suspension, check out the link.http://www.elephantracing.com/suspension/diagram/944suspensiondiagram.htm
These are also listed for the 944 but should also fit the 968 (right again?).
Has anyone any input on these.

This is my "daily driver" during the spring, summer and fall. I have absolutely no concern about noise or comfort. I do care about street reliability but I do not mind cleaning and lubricating every weekend. The car now runs LEDA coilovers with approx 5 times the spring coefficient of the stock 968 CS and R tyres.

944 and 968 have interchangable sway bars, yes. I moved the rear Weltmeister bar from my 944S to the 968.

What is your opinion on the Weltmeister piece?

I like it. It is infinetly adjustable, not just three settings like the M030 bar. I am running the M030 on the front though.

How big is it? i have a lindsey racing rear sway (which is the same size as the MO30 rear-19MM), but has 5 settings, rather then 3 (one softer & one stiffer then the MO30).

i've seen the weltmeister stuff enough, and it's pretty clunky - i think the elephant stuff is made by tarret - nicely done - both setups are hard to tune in that you need to find a controlled area where you can eliminate the driver as a variable

that's why i did the math and went with fixed stuff - the M030 wasn't big enough, so i made my own - i now have 31.75mm front and 22.25mm rear - woohoo! i'm a good ways off from duplicating it though - i'm not starting any more projects until winter (at least not ones like that which would require taking my car off the road again)

Fox, the Weltmeister is 22mm rear and I dont think it is clunky at all compared to the M030.

The Elephant sure looks like business. I would like to know how much stiffer than the stock sway it actually is (or rather the stiffness through the adustable range).

I have the Elephant racing/Tarret sway. The way it adjust is great, the standard one is a pain. Right now however on it´s softest setting at the rear which could either be an idicator that you have all the range in the world or possibly that they are too stiff. I would think I have simmilar LEDAS to you. I am speaking on behalf of myself but for busnings have a look at www.waspracing.se

Best
