D1R Supercharger Installation

the last two steps of the D1R SC "installation"

1. K&N filter cover so the car can practice safe breathing ( or safe blowing )

2. What ?! For now " it's a thing "... may or may not keep it but giving it a chance for the time being. Hey, to each his own !

lol - i almost offered those. nobody seemed interested though, and since you can get them online, it made more sense for others to get it on their own, than for me to get them and have to mark them up.

personally, i don't like to advertise like that. it only makes the kids in the rice grinders want to be dumb and show off. i'd think about it if it weren't for that. so, i'm going with the sleeper approach, at least for now. i'm even looking into how to quiet things down under the hood, so that nobody knows it's there.

LOL, the ricers ( or anyone else..) would have to get really close behind the car to read that emblem, and while I'm not implying that many could not still do that, there are probably at least a handful of additional cars that'll have a hard(er) time with it ..

ds, I see you still have the second hose clamps at the hose bends. Have you tried taking them off? If you have, do you get a small kink?

I may be blind, but is that supercharged on the back of the car. That blue is so cool it overwhelms the thought process

Did not try taking them off, but moved one of the clamps ( tne outer one ) about 1" closer to the other on tne hose closest to the nose of the car to take out a slight kink, even though it never affected the way the car ran but it was bugging me visually :-)

Yes, it is a " supercharged " chrome emblem ( oe for the SC'd Cadillacs, of all things.. ) . It's the smallest one I could find ( 4 " x 1/8 " ) everyting else available was too much " in your face ! " size :-)

Quote:the list is on the "Recommendations and Cautions" page

i need to update that list too, to now allow the early ECUs as well as the Tip

i also need to add warranty shipping instructions, as Rotrex is pretty specific about how they want to see the unit
Hi

This is old topic. Ive bought used D1R kit and now I read this area and try to learn before Ill start the installation. I found this instruction here related to early cars ecu. Can someone confirm that early ecu 0261.203.070 part number 944.618.123.01 with green sticker label not work with the kit and Ill need version 944.618.123.02. I think there is yellow sticker label. My ecu is that early version.

My second question related to installation instructions (stage 1). Has someone the latest version in pdf or word format? I would be very grateful if someone could email it to me.

Actually my kit is Dans old kit which was early in automatic car. I bought the kit this spring from ebay.

I did some DIY work and clean old parts. I ordered new pulleys, new belt, new rotrex filter & oil and new k/n filter.

Jackson Racing 2 pulleys are little different than old ones. There is thicker edge. Is someone running with these? I hope they are ok?
