Clutch pedal switch
#1

There is a switch at the top of the clutch pedal very similar to the brake pedal switch. Mine has fallen out of the hole and the nut had disappeared into doldrums under the seat I'm sure. It is just hanging and I've tie wrapped it out of the way, but haven't noticed anything not functioning properly. Does anyone know what this switch is for?

its probably the cruise control lock out switch - disengages cruise control when the clutch pedal is pushed. try to engage the cruise control to confirm...

I know that if it is not working correctly and you push in the clutch while on cruise...(which i did accidentally while on a cross country trip, in the Yreka,Ca. area going uphill on cruise, decided to downshift) the eng. will hit the limiter. Just another thing to buy/fix on the car that needed nothing.

i think the cruise control was designed to re-engage on a time delay after changing gears - same thing happened to me when i didn't put it back in gear. a similar switch on the brake pedal turns the cruise control off.

The clutch switch in my 951 works correctly, disengages the cruise when the clutch is pushed in, then re-engages. My 968 clutch switch either has a broken wire, or is just not working. Got it up on jackstands right now while waiting for a trans. drain and a fill plug, will check it out.

Thanks to all. That is indeed the problem I was looking for. Now if I can just find that nut.
