#1

Hello.

Please kindly inform, if someone has good instructions how to replace Porsche 968 (manual gearbox) clutch parts (clutch plate, clutch pressure plale/assembly, pressure bearing.) + possible other parts, which will be needed to replace.

I wish to do the clutch work by my self,

With Warm Greetings

Erkki

There is a whole bunch of postings in regards to replacing the clutch. Just use the search engine and you will find a lot of info. Be aware that are a few color coded clutches available that seems to fit, but only the GREEN colored (marked) one is right for 968.... Have fun.

I did my clutch on the front drive in just over 5 hours,

the big thing is don't try to short cut, take the exhaust off, so much more room to work, even then its a bit fiddly.

make sure you buy all the parts before hand,

clutch fork pivot shaft

fork needle rollers

new pressure plate bolts

all the exhaust mounting bolts as you will end up cutting some off, Buy a Nut Splitter !!!!!

header to exhaust gaskets

If you are going to attempt the RMS (rear main seal) you will have to make up a tool to push it in straight.

and then you will need new flywheel bolts.

Take your time, find a copy of the work shop manual
