This GT3RS photo is way too coincidental to let the story slide, even though it will take the post OT, somewhat. But first, in line with the beautiful cars theme, I've never been a 911 body style fan ( they all look like upside down bathtubs to me, even though the 993 is not bad as things go, but I do like the lines of the GT 2 and GT3 models, EXCEPT this gt3RS coloring scheme and that abominable rear "wing on stilts" thing - very tacky, IMHO.. but whatever..
So while driving home on 280 yesterday ( a sweeping highway with four lanes , and at some points five lanes in each direction ) with traffic well spaced and moving at the typical 70-75mph, in the far left hand lane there's a GT3RS, in the exact clor combo as the one in the bombfactory photo, going at maybe a steady 75-80 speed and a BMW X 5 suv, just dogging it behind , tailgating at no more than a couple of car lenghts - not sure what the bozo was trying to do or thinking but it seemed he probably wanted to see the Porsche speed up.. I hope he wasn't delusional enough to think he can keep up with it <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/rolleyes.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> Well he got his wish ; as the traffic ahead cleared up a bit , the X5 dude speeds up and tries to pass the GT3 on the right. So the GT driver decided to "humor" the BMW and stepped on it. The best way I can illustrate the visual aspect of that moment is this: it looked as if suddenly the BMW driver threw his car into reverse and sped up backwards , or as if two giant rubber bands slung the cars in opposite directions. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/ohmy.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> And that was from a rolling 90mph, maybe 100mph at that point. Wow, the GT3 RS has some kick ! Yup, must be a blast to drive. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/cool.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />
