Arguably the most iconic Porsche ever up for auction
#1

No, not the 968 .. Tongue , but THIS is going up on the auction block in Monterey ( during the August automotive fest and auctions )

The Steve McQueen special .     Wink      Usually “experts”  place an estimate and speculate as to what the car might sell for,  but I haven’t seen anything on that yet,  other than the expectation that it may bring an all time record price ( not sure if that means for Monterey auctions history, or everywhere  ) .

I think the sale record for a car was $ 52 Million for a Ferrari GTO , but I could be wrong ..

I just ordered this livery polo ( well, it’s a variant of the livery with “ accents “ of the colors , but I like it ) .

Being shipped from Germany, so probably a couple of weeks travel time ..

Shipping from Germany is horrible these days, for me it's just a neighbour country, but the last few weeks the most simple items will take up to 14 days to arrive.

When normally it was around 4 days or less.

So ds968, i do hope that your couple of weeks will work out to be true. as for me it also takes up a couple of weeks already.

The DHL delivery  “estimate“ was 14 days, and I did get notice that it left Frankfurt yesterday, but things also have a tendency to sit in US customs hubs from as little as two days to as long as six weeks, without any rhyme or reason.. and a small parcel vs a large one does not necessarily seem to drive the timeline... so who knows when it’ll get here .

Maybe I’ll wear it together with this mask ..   overkill ?!  Tongue

But no more masks in California ( except for a few places - hospitals, public transportation)  so that option is out ..

We are having our restrictions extended for another month, its crazy here, thousands can attend a football match or go to weddings, but today my daughter had to go through labour and give birth without her partner, due to covid restrictions

This government has lost the plot

Oh and I have a new grandson, born today at 6:48 am

Called him Jack

Congrats !!!

And yes, the idiocy of governments’ criteria for establishing any given set of rules, never ceases to puzzle .. and frustrate .

Congrats. Grandchildren can be refreshing. One of mine just graduated from high school. It was a bit of a stark reminder how how quickly life progresses.
