One that I miss? The '79 Celica Supra.

How about a thread on cars you regret buying? My '94 968 fits there. I really would love to sell this car.

And sell the 1980 Renegade, and the '04 Harley and the '66 Beetle...I am over them all. No time to drive any of them and want to finish the resto on my '83 volvo flatnose.

Holy crap ! Watching Mecum auctions .. A 1971 ‘ Cuda 426 Hemi convertible is on the block, the current bid is at $ 4,800,000 now and the bidding is still going ... !!

( I owned a 1970 ‘Cuda 440 6-pack which I sold for next to nothing .. sigh ! .  And sure , not the same as the above mentioned car , since only a handful of hemi Cudas were produced in convertible form so extremely rare , but damn, fully restored my car would bring about $ 350 -$ 400 K now.. )

The insanity of the American muscle car frenzy continues ...

I have wondered what that 62 Chevy Bel Aire, 409 bubble top would sell for today.

My mechanic who owns one of the most reputable exotic cars shop in this area ( works on mostly classic Ferraris , but many Maseratis,  Lamborghinis,  Porsches,  McLarens,  etc.  and rebuilds 427 Cobras into race-ready cars as a hobby,  owns two cars :

A Ferrari 599 Fiorano , and a Jeep Wrangler , the latter which he drives most of the time.   To me that certainly says something about the Wrangler !!

But in somewhere similar style to that, I’m seeing insane prices at auction for Ford Broncos .. there is a resurgence for all purpose classics evidently ..

My 2010 Mercedes CLS550.

I did all the repairs and maintenance on that car and I had it 100% perfect showroom condition in every way.

It had about 80k miles and I wanted a sports car, so I got my 2018 718 Cayman gts to fill the spot in the garage.

I should have found a way to keep it as it is nice to have a luxury limo cruiser sometimes...gave it away for like 12k Sad

Wish I still had my '72 Malibu 350.  I suspect it would sell for a LOT more today than when I sold it back in the 1980s.  And the 1985 RX-7 GSL (last year of original body with bigger 13B engine) was a fun car.

Miss the '72 Westfalia VW camper bus with a real type IV Porsche 914 motor (swapped it myself).

We used to take it all over the place, including Mexico, White Mountains in Arizona, etc. etc...driving in Phoenix one late afternoon, someone made a left turn in front of me with no signal (said the sun was in his eyes and couldn't see the bus). Since your knees are the bumper in that car, I was quite lucky to have escaped without injury.

Of course now those old air-cooled buses are crazy expensive & would be repaired. Don't even know if ours was

94 Cab.  I replaced it with a much "better" car.  Faster, better handling, better steering, etc.  But that old 968 was the perfect road trip car.  Part sports car, part GT.  Perfect.

1992 Passat G60 Syncro.
