ANNUAL SOCAL/NORCAL PASO ROBLES RUN - SAT JUNE 14
#1

ok - so, now that we had our false start, let's start planning this for real - i promised to make it up to everybody, and am working hard on doing exactly that - so, here goes

Sat June 14

we will once again descend upon paso robles to rendezvous at the krooked kilt for lunch

then, off to the wine tasting

i am currently working on setting up a couple of other additional wineries for us as a warm up

i have arranged for something special this year when we get to tobin james - since we were last there, they installed a big old style pizza oven, and they have agreed to fire it up for a little party for us late in the afternoon - so, after doing the wine tasting, we can stuff ourselves and really enjoy

i am also working up a hotel list for those who want to stay in the area overnight, and still be back for father's day - i'll post that in the next day or so

i will also post start times, rendezvous points, routes and such over the next couple of days

so, let's start building the head count

I'm out -- expecting a baby the following week! And by 'baby', I'm not talking about a new car.

this is not off to as good of a start as i would like - joseph and ron are already out - but, sean, dan and i and a couple of others already are in

this is really the only chance - i'm stuck after this weekend, and it's too hot in july or august or even early september, so we would be all the way into the next school year, which i'm willing to do, but could prove even more problematic for many

come on people - let's not mess this up

June 14 works for me. My wife and I went down anyway on the 10th & stayed in Cambria at the Cambria Pines Lodge, then toured Hearst Castle Sunday morning. The lodge had a 100+ rooms, great gardens, and a good restaurant. Good food/lodging package. We ended up having a very nice weekend! BTW, that day I saw another 968, a red coupe, heading south on 101 around Gilroy, going very fast in the slow lane while I was going very slowly in the fast lane...

June 14 works for me as well and I'll probably stay over and check out a couple of wineries on the way back north.

So, is there a map or list of meeting points? Agenda? The aforementioned hotel list? I'm a little slow so sometimes I need the obvious pointed out...

Thanks!

i'm calling around to the hotels today (got the list now) and checking prices and such - will post tonight

maps will go up in a few days, as will the itinerary, when we have a good idea of the route, which is ultimately determined by the rendezvous points

keep checking this thread
