brake pad vibration dampers
#1

I'm in the middle of a brake pad replacement and i just took out the first set of brake pads and noticed the vibration dampers on the back of the pads. I didn't get new vibration dampers but looking at the workshop manual it says I need to put new ones on. My question is, is there anything I can do to put the new pads on without going out and buying new damper plates and vibration dampers? i.e. use the old ones, not put them in at all, etc.

Any immediate help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Just use the old ones, you'll be fine. That's what most of us do anyhow. If you use some of that anti-squeel sticky stuff (dries rubbery, available at autostores) inbetween the vibration dampners and the pads, you'll be good. Good luck.

Thanks Rustech, I figured it would be ok to use the old ones just wanted to make sure.
