sweet!!!

i'm just about done getting the blue one ready - pretty much just have to decide which software i'm running and button it up - i'm in "temporary mode" on a couple of things (like the exhaust down tube which doesn't seal up as well at the cat-back as my other one) - things i'll just have to live with for this run

I wish I could join as it would be good to see the NorCal contingent and I really need to stock up on wine again, but I'll be heading East and riding the 191 while you all are popping aspirin and driving home Sunday. Be safe our there!

Not sure who else gets the "Bring a Trailer" email report, but check this out. Evidently they are also in Paso Robles this weekend with a bunch of rare old cars. I can't tell exactly where, but it appears to be some kind of hotel or something if I look at the pictures closely.

2011 Targa California: http://bringatrailer.com/2011/04/07/we-a...rnia-2011/

April 7, 2011 We are Live From the 2011 Targa California! We are back in Paso Robles, California for our third annual Targa California, and we are excited for this event to kick-off yet another season of BaT driving events. A new experience compared to the last two sunny Targas has been the cold, with the crowd that came north from SoCal today faced rain and hail along their trip. The Friday run looks to be dry and we will be featuring our favorite roads, cars, and stories right here on BaT. Check out the pics below and stay tuned for more!

I wish everyone a safe trip and a wonderful time!

Bob,

I'm out - I was thinking about driving down for just Saturday (came down for Sunday last year) but its just to much driving for two days - Sacramento to Paso Robles and back on Saturday - then I have to be in San Jose Sunday morning at 9:00am and the wife is out of town so I'm responsible for all the criters (and we have a variety of them...) so staying over in Paso Robles isn't an option. Have a great time and post pix...

Norcal guys - one more thing to consider : Trevor swears Firestone Brewery in San Luis Obispo ( 30 min south of Paso ) has THE BEST tri-tip sandwich in the U.S. I can vouch for their beer, which is great. So on Sunday, if you guys want to drive down for lunch, before our return trip let's discuss Saturday night over scotch and a cigar.. I would like to go, but since I do want to take the scenic Hwy 25 back, and that's not a place you want to have your car break down, I prefer to have a caravan of friends around me, just in case one of our cars needs help.. . Hey, it happened before so I'm a bit paranoid about being in places with no cell signal and where you might see another car only once an hour..

We've arrived in Atascadero. We actually hit a snowstorm coming over the top on 41! The last 20 miles or so of 41 was a spectacular drive! We're in a beautiful room, and it just stopped hailing!! (And my car is parked out on the street).

Holy crap, you drove waaay past Paso Robles !! Go back the same way, head west to Canberra ( don't drop too far south, the Melbourne traffic is a killer ), and then just keep straight about 9,700 miles .. we'll see you tomorrow at the right meeting spot

I'm going to try to be at the Gaviota rest stop, but don't

wait for me. If I'm not there I'll meet everyone in Paso.

Oh my god, someone had the nerve to park Corvettes in front of the lineup, what scandal, how disrespectful...they should be drawn and quartered, and suspended indefinately from PCA and any further activities involving either 968's OR wine....

Lots more to come,

Jay

While I was down in Paso with you all, there was an accident at Longevity Wines where I work. A full barrel of came of the top of the barrel stack and struck the winemaker in the head. He is extremely lucky that it didn't kill him outright. I found about this as I arrived home this evening. Just waiting for an update on his condition. The injuries are not life threatening, but he probably has a long recover period ahead of him. This unfortunate accident is going to dump he entire winemaking in my hands until Phil recovers.
