8th Annual Paso Robles Rendezvous and Wine Run
#21

I unfortunately won't be able to attend Paso Robles due to a schedule conflict. Need to house sit/family sit. Wine isn't much of my thing either.

Of course of things change then I will go.

We are now getting closer to the event. Time to prod people.

If you have not done so, please make your hotel reservations. The deal closes march 15th.

The ticket price for the event, just as last year, is $40 per person. This covers the tasting for the day, as well as lunch. Please contact me via email (click on my name and see the address) so that I can send you the address to send your check to. This needs to be done in advance so that I can make the appropriate arrangements. I need this by the end of the month.

This is going to be so much fun. I am really looking forward to it.

Thus far Dan is the only one, besides myself, from the NorCal group that has indicated they are going on the Paso Run. Are there any others out there? Depending on where everyone is coming from we might need to consider more than one rendezvous point. I'm open to route suggestions although there are not a lot of alternatives that don't add additional driving time which means an earlier start. We've always managed to show up right on time.

Yes, I am planning to spend the celebration of my 56th year on this planet amongst a bunch of 968's and I no of no other place on the planet where that can be accomplished than Paso Robles! I won't be able, though, to caravan with other Norcal attendees. I have a court appearance in Federal court in Fresno on Friday, the 8th, so my wife and I are planning to drive to Fresno Thursday evening, and then drive from Fresno to the coast on some cool mountain road, yet to be determined. (Suggestions always appreciated). I've just ordered a wind deflector, expedited shipping, from Sunset in an effort to avoid the inevitable "Can we put the top down" ... "Do we have to ... it'll ruin my hair" discussions. (Anyone notice that if you see a convertible with the top up on a nice day, it is invariably being driven by a person of female persuasion? lol).

Flash: My check will be in the mail tomorrow.

cigars just ordered from my special source ( an assortment of "torpedo" style stogies ) -- expecting them to be delivered this week ; a couple from the dominican republic, a couple from nicaragua and the rest from an origin i'd rather not reveal on the internet , but i'm assured they were thigh-rolled by caribbean virgins especially for us no doubt they'll go very well with the scotch you guys are bringing.. let's just hope it does not rain 'cause I'm pretty sure you can't smoke anywhere indoors in California

NorCAl contingent, where are we all coming from? I know that Pauli is coming down from the Wine Country. How many do we have from the west side of the Bay and how many from the east side? In years past we have gathered in Gilroy and that may be the best location if we have a large crowd coming from both sides of the Bay. Last year, as there were only three of us, we gathered in Portola Valley and headed down from there. Let me know where you are coming from.
