It depends on wheel offset.

Run a search on Wheel Offset. There should be a lot of info in various threads.
The short answer is the offset of a wheel determines far it sticks out from the center of the car. A lower offset number will stick out farther. A higher offset number will have the outside, and therefore the inside, of the wheel moved more inboard.
My wheels are 18 inchers that are 8.5" and 10.0" respectively. I have 275s on the 10" rears and get a little tire rubbing under compression because the offset places the wheel and tire almost outside of the fender well.
I've read about some 968s and 944s with 11" wide rear wheels shod with 285 mm tires. They worked because they were positioned in the correct location within the fender well.
Hi Jason,
I run 10x18 up front with 265/35/18 RE 55 and 12x18 in the rear with 295/30/18 PZeros. How are Hoosiers holding up? I run same spec. neg. on my car. How much work did you put in to install 315 at rear. I can not put anything bigger then 305 I think.

PS 513HP at rear treads now.
Do you know the offset of those wheels?I know the tyres will fit, but not sure how to spec the wheels.
Nice number, what boost that at?
