West Coast Gathering 2017?

Just got back from NY. One office day tomorrow, and then a lazy Friday drive up the coast. Really looking forward to this!

Having braved the temperatures around Barstow and Bakersfield, I can report that CA is every bit as hot as parts of AZ. Now recovering at Harris Ranch Restaurant before the final leg tomorrow morning.

Hit some 108s en route. Car did fine, we're a little fried. Stopped for night at Harris Ranch on I 5 for the night. Expect to be in Mendo around 2:30.

Another West Coast Gathering almost complete. Wow!!...the stories told, the advise exchanged. The winding roads we navigated and the 60 degree temp swings on our route.........again this year about 10-11 cars hidden in the mist of Mendocino. More stories to be told...hang tight.  We heard the story of the "art 968" from Bill himself. As most of you know this car story was featured in PCA Panorama not long ago.

Thanks to Bob Frith we could complete the Second Annual Wesr Coat Gathering. Now to everyone's experience.

Just got home. The weekend was a total blast. Great people, great roads, great cars, great scenery, some really good food and drink. Thanks to Bob for putting this all together. And also to Bill for bringing along his mobile 968 garage sale out of the back of the Art Car.! I got a nice carpet cover for my stained rear deck. Those who haven't done this should think about joining us next year. Some of the most fun you can have with your clothes on!

You guys had your clothes on ?! What kind of prudes are you , if there's any place for 968 " naturists ", it's Mendocino !

Sounds like you all had a great time! Bummed I couldn't make it this year, but had to host a winemaker dinner that was scheduled a year ago - Hopefully, next years' date won't be a conflict.

It was a great time, excellent planning, great people, and fun cars. We are already discussing some options for next year.

...and now for my belated thanks to everyone that participated and those that invested all the hard work to plan an excellent "gathering" of people who happen to own and drive 968s...

Thanks to all for a very enjoyable weekend!!

Note to self: next year plan to take an extra day off before the event to better prepare myself (and the car) for the weekend...

The "art car" looks like something Janis Joplin might have owned back in the day.

Belated thanks for the really fun weekend. I felt very welcomed by everyone, and Bill and I had fun trading off for last car in the pack. Wish I could have stayed for the full weekend, but next year I will bring my wife, the owner of the 968, for the real deal. The supercharger has been faultless and mondo fun in the tiptronic, really enjoying The White Car aca Pearl. Judd
