We have a couple of options when it comes to Sunday Wine Country Lunch. Bob Frith will follow up on this. The Bewildered Pig in Philo will offer us a spectacular setting and a wonderful family lunch with a variety of meats and locally grown vegetables. We will have private parking, garden setup for drinks and appetizers. Though pricey....$ 50-70 per person plus wine or beer

We also have the "Picnic Lunch" scene at Roederer Estate. This will include a picnic lunch in a nice setting with sparkling wine and still wine.

$25 plus wine $10. (still to be confirmed)

Love to get a feed back.....what would you prefer?

I'm assuming the "picnic lunch" is supplied and we don't have to bring our own stocked picnic baskets? If that is the case, the picnic option is fine with me. $140 a couple for lunch, without wine or beer, seems a little much, just on the principle of the thing.

Yeah, driving from the rear has its benefits for the rest of us :-) We'll have to find another slow car for this year.

Yes, the picnic lunch would be provided by the winery. Light stuff that goes with wine (cheese, sausage, etc). Details forthcoming soon.

...just to follow-up with everyone.  I made reservations a month or two ago, so Kay & I are definitely coming again this year.

We expect to get there on Friday evening, but might not make it by 8PM.  Looking forward to a great weekend & thanks for all the work arranging things.  We won't be drinking any beer or wine, so we'll leave that to others for input on where to go for lunch.

Thanks,

John

We are only a few weeks away from the event and have a great weekend planned There are still a few rooms left at the hotel so you still have time to make a reservation and join us in Mendocino. Beautiful drives, great wines, great experiences with fellow 968 owners! You need to be there!

Thanks for the reminder Kaj, I am getting mine in shape for the drive. Just put new tires on the summer rims and swapped them on. I forgot how much better the car handles with the 17's, and fresh rubber really helped the ride too.

For all of you on the fence, make the reservation. This is a fun group and a great chance to see this many of our rare little cars all in the same place. Prior to last year's event, the most I had ever seen in one place was three, with mine being one of that group.

I dropped my car off at my mechanic's yesterday for an oil change and to address a few minor issues, so it will be in tip-top shape for the gathering. I'll be bringing along my new travel guitar if anyone else is musically inclined, can fit in an instrument, and wants to do some jamming after driving. This is going to be BIG FUN!

I am unable to make the gathering this time around. More than a year of unemployment has severely impacted our cash flow. That said, I do have a conditional offer of employment pending a contract award. So, perhaps next year. Have fun, there are some first class wineries to visit as I'm sure Kaj knows.

Chris, can you drive up on Sat or Sunday and join us along the route? Maybe at Anderson Valley Brewing Company Sat afternoon? Or some of the wineries on Sun?
